$$$$ "Olaf" - 2004 Reining/Cowhorse Gelding

Olaf aka Chex Out This Wave is a bay roan finished reining/all-around gelding by Tidal Wave Jac (LTE: $151,000+, produce earnings $200,000+). Tidal Wave Jac was a competitor of the world equestrian games, 2002 Gold Medalist, Team USA WEG in Jerez, Spain, and 2005 FEI World Reining Master Gold Medalist in Manerbio, Italy... just to name a few. Olaf strongly resembles his sire both physically and in the show pen; he sits on a heavy-built, durable frame with attractive features and a ground-shaking sliding stop! Originally trained and sold by Craig Schmersal for $43,000 as a 3 year old. Following that he showed at the NRHA futurity marking 71's and has since been shown by a Ltd open, non-pro/amateur, and youth competitor. However, the last few years he hasn't been shown much due to owner constraints (no fault of his) so he has relatively low miles for his career. He is bigger than the horses we generally ride, standing around 15hh and about 4 foot wide (lol) but it doesn't hinder his athletic ability. Huge stop, correct turn around, beautiful lead changes and circles...This horse has the talent to plus all his maneuvers! He took to ranch roping and the obstacle course like an old pro, rode very quietly down the trail and has a natural want to go with a cow for as little experience he has with them. The best part about him is that you can drape your reins and he'll carry himself pretty and low-headed like a reiner but will pick his head up easily when you need him to, making him very versatile. He would be an excellent all-around horse for someone wanting to do it all... whether it's showing in the straight reining (or cow boxing with a little more time on a cow), ranch versatility, ranch horse pleasure, sorting/penning, riding down the trail or he has the size and stop to be a true switch-ender rope horse! Olaf has a lot of personality, is gentle and easy to get along with. He makes a dramatic color change from being nearly white in winter to bay with minimal white hairs throughout in the summer. Despite appearances he's not an Appaloosa... Olaf has no vices other than making humorous farting noises with his lips when he's bored (I don't think that's considered a vice...?), and no buck, rear, bolt, etc and no lameness/health issues or special maintenance. Clean legs and big bones! We are located near Bakersfield and shipping/delivery is available. We offer a guarantee on all the horses we sell!*
